THINKING HEART COACHING

A Somatic Approach to Exploring Change

Taking the first step towards any uncharted direction brings uncertainty.

It is unusual and unknown but often driven by a deeper calling. Something is not working.

We strive to feel different; to see and feel things in a new way.

On the journey of transformation, personal change does not occur in a vacuum, rather through the encounter with another. The interpersonal and intrapsychic dimensions opposites: person and spirit, self and other, inner and outer, heart and mind, mind and body are the foundations of the map for change.

My approach to coaching incorporates a combination of direct focused guidance and intuitive receptivity and holding. Through somatic practices, empathy and attunement, active listening, and unconditional positive regard for your process and needs, I aim to chart the course of your journey while following your direction, speed, and endurance.

In my coaching practice, I combine the somatic techniques and exploratory processes to support autonomic nervous system regulation through Somatic Experiencing ©. Somatic Experiencing © combines deep mindfulness practices, self-attunement, tracking and exploratory orienting, and tools of titration and pendulation to support optimal vagus nerve functioning and autonomic nervous system regulation. Old patterns of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn don’t have to be our only choices when experiencing a sense of threat, or feeling triggered. Somatic practices and the transpersonal elements of Jungian-oriented depth psychology are the main tools I use to support my coaching clients.

Affective neuroscience teaches us that healing occurs best when integrating “top down and bottom up” approaches. This integrative balance and harmony lead to creative and embodied change. From here, the transpersonal and spiritual connection with the numinous can be supported, anchored, and maintained.

From this perspective in healing one can integrate their mind, body, and heart and develop what the Sufi mystics call a thinking heart. Whether you find yourself looking to ease emotional suffering and pain, or cross into a new threshold of your life, I am honored to explore your past, present, and future together with a thinking heart.

Transform.

Telling your story and connecting with the felt sense of the here and now initiates the transformative process.

Understand.

As we come to understand our story, we begin to find clarity in what we feel, sense, think - in who we are as one cohesive body. We increase our capacity to feel whole inside our bodies. The journey in self-compassion it not a destination to be achieved, rather it is a journey of remembrance.

Resource.

Tap into your inner resources for connection with the resilience and gifts that already reside inside of you.
